The Midwives’ Course is complete – we proudly present the Midwives’ Map and invite you to join: “Facing Menopause – See a Midwife!”

The official conclusion of the course, combined with a summary session and the presentation of course completion certificates, took place in the picturesque town of Krasnobród on June 7. We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone involved in preparing and delivering this unique course. We also warmly congratulate all the midwives who participated, thanking them for their commitment and for the valuable, inspiring time we spent together. We are proud to be building a community around the #MenopauseWithoutTaboos initiative!
Every woman in Poland has an assigned midwife as part of primary healthcare – and she is free to choose or change that midwife at any time. Midwives are equipped with the knowledge and qualifications to provide guidance on menopause, perform certain medical tests, and even prescribe medications. They support women throughout their entire lives – from birth to death – with pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum care being just one part of their broader role.
Midwives accompany women in caring for their health at every stage of life – including during the perimenopausal and menopausal periods. Thanks to the "Counselling During the Menopausal Transition" course, dozens of midwives from across Poland have updated their knowledge of menopause and its effects on physical and mental health. They have also strengthened their ability to offer effective emotional and psychological support to women undergoing this transition. The course has equipped them with new competencies to guide and consult women through the challenges of menopause.
We hope that thanks to this initiative, more and more midwives will soon have the opportunity to take part in similar courses, improve their qualifications, and, in doing so, support women through the menopausal transition — because we know how much this is needed!
To make it easier for Polish women to find a nearby midwife trained in menopause support, we have launched an interactive map on www.menopauzabeztabu.org.pl. The map allows any woman to locate a suitable midwife and access her support.
During such a consultation, the midwife will conduct an interview with the patient, explain what menopause is, what she may expect, and guide her further along her medical journey. She may recommend seeing an endocrinologist or gynecologist, or suggest blood tests. The midwife will also talk about healthy lifestyle habits and nutrition.
The Midwives’ Map will be regularly updated.
