Violence, not only physical, but in any other form, such as menstrual exclusion, forced marriages, difficult access to education, performing low-paid jobs, is still part of the daily life of women of all ages in the world. International Girls' Day is not only an occasion to remind (people) of the problems that girls and young women face every day. It is also high time for a loud discussion and starting concrete actions.
What can we do? It must be possible for girls to acquire knowledge and skills, equip them with resources and empower them so that they can decide for themselves about their life path. Create a supportive environment that allows girls to thrive as boys. So, let's not cut their wings by saying what a girl can and should, and what a boy can and should. Let them dream and develop. Let them look to the future in terms of opportunities, not limitations.
This year's International Girls' Day is held under the slogan "My Voice, Our Equal Future". Let's hear girls and what is important to them, what they want for themselves and the world, what ideas they have and what solutions they see. Let us give them a voice, because thanks to them the world can become better!
We encourage you to join the celebration of International Girls' Day!
