The construction of the school began in the summer of 2018, and its opening is planned for January 2020. Finishing works are currently underway. The educational offer will include seven vocational courses that will prepare the students to work in specific industries, such as:
- information technology and communication,
- video, sound, and photo production,
- food production,
- cosmetology,
- carpentry,
- tailoring and clothing design,
- painting and interior decoration.
In addition, all students will have the opportunity to take part in entrepreneurship classes.
The initiative for creating the school is the result of Kulczyk Foundation's collaboration with the Jacaranda Foundation founded by Marie Da Silva from Malawi. Marie, after working in the United States, decided to return to her homeland and support a school in her hometown. She wanted to take special care of the education of children whose parents had died of AIDS. The name of the Jacaranda Foundation comes from the name of the tree which is a symbol of life, growth, and hope. These values have become the Foundation's credo and guide its activities. Construction of a vocational school is one of those activities that are to support young people in fulfilling their desires, and will be their chance for a better tomorrow.
