During the discussion, important data was highlighted, including:
→ Equality research typically focuses on publicly listed companies, which account for less than 1% of all companies with management and supervisory boards in Europe. But what about the remaining 99%? The GRAPE team decided to examine these structures and discovered that most of them lack women. As many as 70% of smaller companies in Europe have no women on their boards, according to Professor Joanna Tyrowicz.
→ No one measures how the decline in women's well-being during, for example, menopause affects their effectiveness in the workplace. If health and well-being remain outside of a company's strategy, sooner or later the company will suffer the consequences.
This only shows how much initiatives that actually support change are needed.
The Równowaga (Balance) competition is one such initiative, reminding us how important it is to create workplaces where gender equality is part of the company's strategy.
