COUNTRY
Cambodia is a state with a population of 16 million in Southeast Asia. It is one of the fastest developing countries, with the average growth rate of 7.7% between 1995 and 2017 (World Bank data). The poverty rate is decreasing, but the situation of many people has changed only slightly and they are still in the at-risk group.
An overwhelming majority of children finish primary school, but only just over 50% graduate from secondary school, which deviates from the standards in other low/middle income countries.
Cambodia’s economy is based on tourism, clothes manufacturing, the construction industry, the real estate market, and agriculture.
