COUNTRY / PROBLEM
Honduras is a country with over nine million inhabitants that is plagued by many issues. The murder rate in Honduras is among the highest in the world. Honduras is the second poorest country in Central America. Over 60% of its inhabitants live in poverty. This issue mainly concerns the indigenous population in rural areas. There are great economic inequalities in the country, and income per capita is among the lowest in the region. Education in Honduras is at a low level, and the share of early school leavers or repeaters remains high.
