Syria is located in Southwest Asia, on the east coast of the Mediterranean Sea.
The conflict in Syria erupted in 2011. Since December 2018, 5.6 million Syrian refugees have escaped to Turkey, Lebanon, Jordan, Iraq, and Egypt. Due to the war, over six million Syrian people have been displaced.
ORGANISATION
The Polish Medical Mission (PMM) is a non-governmental organisation striving to save lives and alleviate suffering through health care as well as humanitarian and development aid. The aim of the PMM is to improve the quality of life through health care interventions and humanitarian programmes. These are carried out through direct medical assistance, education, as well as humanitarian and development aid to the most disadvantaged and needy. The beneficiaries are the residents of the poorest regions of the world, refugees, and groups threatened by social exclusion.
PROJECTS
Kulczyk Foundation supported the efforts of the Polish Medical Mission in Idlib Governorate, Syria. Funds were donated for medical assistance and purchase of life-saving supplies.
