The 24th anniversary of Ukrainian Independence

Events

It was not an easy celebration. There are still ongoing events like Russia’s annexation of Crimea, armed conflict with pro-Russian rebels in Donbas, and the tragic situation of many citizens. Attendees commemorated the victims of these tragic events with a minute of silence.

Ukraine wants freedom, wants to exist normally, wants to work, to build, to live. There was a performance by the Gary Guthman Jazz Quartet and the Ukrainian Bozhyk Band, as well as an exhibit of Ukrainian avant-garde paintings and beautiful icons. Portraits of people from the Maidan served as a reminder that everything in our lives is very frail.

We remember. We will help.
