We observe climate change all over the world. Increasing disturbances in weather cycles and violent weather phenomena are becoming commonplace. Scientists indicate that one of the key tasks to counteract them is to increase education about the climate crisis.

Graj z nami w zielone! ® project is aimed at teachers, educators, parents and guardians who conduct classes for children at the primary school level. Its aim is to raise knowledge in the field of energy transformation, principles of circular economy and the need to protect the earth's surface and water.

The materials prepared as part of the Graj z nami w zielone! ® project include carefully developed lesson plans, worksheets and exemplary tasks to be performed by students at school and at home. Zosia and her mother, Wanda, the heroines of eco-books, take those who are interested on an ecological journey.

Together with them, students will have the opportunity to understand why we should not generate unnecessary waste, learn about the causes and effects of climate change, learn how wind and solar farms work, and what green hydrogen is and why it is so important in the coming years, especially in the context of zero-emission industry and transport.

Eco-books contain professionally developed lesson plans in three age categories - for grades 1-3, 4-6 and 7-8. They are printed on 100% recycled paper, to produce which no chemicals harmful to the environment are used. Eco-books are also available for download free of charge in electronic form on the project website: hbps: //esg.polenergia.pl/graj-z-nami-w-zielone/

Polenergia educators and Kulczyk Foundation will appear in the Discovery Park during the 25th Science Picnic of Polish Radio and the Copernicus Science Center. On site, you will be able to see lesson plans and eco-books, as well as take part in a series of scientific experiments prepared by our experts.

This year, the theme of the Science Picnic is water and its role in our environment. That is why educators, together with Zosia and her mother Wanda, the heroines of ecological stories, plan, among others:

  • Hint about the pressure and density of water. Create a water tornado and a real cloud
  • Show why it is so important to retain water and stop its surface runoff
  • Explain the importance of water in the human body and what you need to eat and drink to stay healthy

There will also be a lot of attractions for the youngest children to splash, color and build.

The 25th Science Picnic starts on Saturday, May 21, at 11:00 am at the Copernicus Science Center at ul. Wybrzeże Kościuszkowskie 20 in Warsaw. We invite you to the Discovery Park.
