Philippines – The Domino Effect

Dominika Kulczyk and the TVN film crew arrived in the Philippines just one month after the Haiyan typhoon, the most powerful typhoon in history to make landfall. The natural disaster claimed the lives of thousands, and it destroyed everything in its path, cutting many cities off from the world and leaving behind damage which the country has not yet been able to deal with. In order to rebuild people’s homes, the land first needs to be cleared of the rubble and put back in order.

International projects

This is precisely what the volunteers of the All Hands Volunteers organization are busy with in the Philippines. Among them was a Polish girl, Iga, whom Dominika Kulczyk encountered. Another exciting meeting was with 24-year old Elsa from the USA, who had constructed an Evacuation Center in Tacloban one year prior. The Center provided safe shelter to all the inhabitants of the village when the typhoon struck the area in November. This is a global community which discussed scaling a biodegradable pad factory project in Kenya that will fight period poverty, provide employment for women, and care for the planet at the same time. The project is managed by Kulczyk Foundation.

One million PLN to support women. The 2nd Edition of the Grant Programme has been launched

The Polish-Ukrainian Sisterhood, which include, among others Henryka Bochniarz, Iryna Deszczyca, Agnieszka Holland, Dominika Kulczyk, Olga Tokarczuk and Oksana Zabużko are launching the 2nd Edition of the "Hi Girls!" Grant Programme. The women's coalition will decide who will receive the next million zlotys to help women and children from Ukraine.

Almost 1,000 women and children at workshops at our "Hi Girls!" Centre

Nearly 1,000 people took part in the workshops organised by the Help Centre for Women from Ukraine called "Hi Girls!". They included Polish language courses, integration, information, and support meetings. Some of the meetings are co-organised with the Ukrainian House.
