During the restrictions caused by the coronavirus pandemic there is an increasing problem of violence in Polish families. For part of people leaving home for school or work was actually an escape from a difficult atmosphere at home. Household members being locked down often feel fear, nervousness and anxiety. More often than seldom it results in increased violence whose victims are usually children. For many of them the rescue comes with the 116 111 Helpline for Children and Youth of the Empowering Children Foundation (Fundacja Dajemy Dzieciom Siłę) supported by the Kulczyk Foundation.
The documentary film “For Our Children” by Dominika Kulczyk (“Dla naszych dzieci”) was awarded at the 11th edition of Awareness Film Festival which was held in the USA at the beginning of November. The documentary dedicated to the stories of refugees from Venezuela received the Merit Award.
Kulczyk Foundation, a Polish private family foundation, and Founders Pledge, a community of entrepreneurs committed to finding and funding solutions to global challenges, have launched a new report on period poverty. A bloody problem: period poverty, why we need to end it and how to do it - which reviews the current state of funding and solutions to ending period poverty - finds that there is no unified approach to data collection, fundraising or implementation of period poverty programmes.
The film “Supernova”, directed by Bartosz Kruhlik, received the Kulczyk Foundation Award at the 13th International Festival of Independent Cinema Mastercard Off Camera. The award was granted as part of the Polish Feature Film Competition. Kulczyk Foundation was the Main Partner of the festival.
