COUNTRY / PROBLEM
Lebanon is situated in West Asia, in the Middle East. It borders Syria and Israel. Since March 2011, 1.5 million Syrian refugees have come to Lebanon. Most of them are staying in border regions, such as the city of Bireh. The increase in the population translates into a number of issues related to infrastructure inefficiencies, employment, as well as access to education and health care.
ORGANISATION
The Polish Center for International Aid (PCPM), established in 2006, is one of the largest Polish NGOs operating internationally. In Lebanon, PCPM is involved in humanitarian aid activities for Syrian refugees, including managing the daily work of the stationary and mobile clinic in Bireh.
PROJECTS
Kulczyk Foundation supported a Bireh clinic by expanding the scope of its activities, covering personnel expenses, as well as financing a portion of medicines and medical supplies necessary for the functioning of the clinic.
